Governor Cuomo gave new information on how he says new cases of COVID-19 are surfacing in New York State amid the shutdown.
Cuomo says his team polled 113 hospitals and got back more than 1200 surveys over the last three days. He says the results found most COVID-19 cases are coming from downstate, which he said was not surprising.
But what he said was not expected: learning about where the new patients spent their time before coming down with the virus.
“This is a surprise, overwhelmingly the people were at home.”
Cuomo said 66% of the people were at home, which he said was “shocking”. He said those sickened were disproportionately older, starting at 51 years old and minorities.
