As Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth faces questioning from lawmakers Wednesday for the first time since the Trump administration launched the war against Iran, his department admitted that the Iran war has cost an estimated $25 billion to date.
Most of the cost has gone to munitions, Pentagon official tells Congress in a hearing. The hearing before the House Armed Services Committee is being held to discuss the administration’s 2027 military budget proposal, which would boost defense spending to a historic $1.5 trillion.
