A Political Action Committee (PAC) focused on 2nd Amendment rights has launched a petition to U.S. lawmakers stating a "lack of faith in God is to blame for the rise of violent crimes, not firearms."

The Constitutional Rights PAC is calling on a supporters to host a "Guns & God Appreciation Day" on September 14. The PAC wants Americans in support of the 2nd Amendment to hold rally's at state capitals and also sign a petition to Congress and President Donald Trump.

The petition states elected officials took an oath to support the Constitution, "Second Amendment and all." The group also states "politically correct society" and a "lack of faith" are to blame for violence in America.

"The Guns and God coalition believes that society’s noticeable lack of faith in God is to blame for the rise of violent crimes, not firearms. The coalition would like to point out that gun ownership has declined in the last 20 years, despite the influx of gun violence. Accompanying the drop in firearms ownership is a noticeable decline in religious participation. Any nation lacking a fixed morality will inevitably fail to maintain a proper societal framework, and taking away guns is not the solution," the petition states.

According to the Federal Election Commission (FEC), the PAC has spent $96,983.30 From January 1 through June 30 this year while raising $125,255.34 during the same period.
