Federal government heavily increasing security for next electoral count to avoid repeat Jan. 6, 2021

The federal government is planning to heavily increase security ahead of the joint session of Congress when the electoral votes are certified as a way to avoid another incident like the Jan. 6, 2021 riot at the U.S. Capitol, according to the Secret Service.
