Democratic strategists on Tuesday created a new super Political Action Committee (PAC) that is devoted to defending the party against Republican legal action regarding the 2024 election.
The new group, called "Democracy Defenders," will be allowed to raise and spend unlimited amounts of money, but is starting with a $10 million budget. The group will also work in coordination with state parties and other allied groups, according to NBC News.
The group said it anticipates attacks on the electoral process by former President Donald Trump and his allies. The group also expects Trump and his team will attempt to undermine confidence in the election before Nov. 5, and then attempt to overturn the election results if they lose.
