Singer Demi Lovato explained in an interview published Tuesday why she decided to go back to using “she/her” pronouns as well as “they/them” back in August 2022 after announcing she identified as non-binary in 2021.
During the 30-year-old pop singer’s interview for GQ Hype Spain, she said always having to explain why she was using those pronouns to describe herself became “absolutely exhausting.”
“I constantly had to educate people and explain why I identified with those pronouns,” Lovato shared, per Page Six. “It was absolutely exhausting.”
“I just got tired,” she added. “But for that very reason I know that it is important to continue spreading the word.”
