Woman to PragerU: Preborn eagles are people… but preborn humans aren’t

PragerU’s Will Witt visited Echo Park in Los Angeles recently to gather signatures for two petitions. The first was to protect preborn eagles. The second was to protect preborn humans. PragerU found that people actually believe preborn eagles should have more rights than preborn humans. An opinion that seems to be becoming more popular.

A 2015 Gallup Poll found that the number of Americans who believe animals should have the same rights as people has increased. In 2008, 25 percent of Americans believed animals should have the same rights as people. By 2015, that number had risen to 32 percent. What’s most disturbing, however, is that the PragerU videoed found people think animals should have more rights than humans – specifically the right to life.

Americans love animals and treat their pets as children. Meanwhile, actual children are being treated as disposable. They are being killed by the thousands on a daily basis. Their bodies are being used for research (a no-no for animals according to animal rights organization PETA) or simply discarded with the medical waste. It’s abhorrent, but as G.K. Chesterson wrote in “On Seriousness,” the two go hand in hand:

Wherever there is Animal Worship there is Human Sacrifice. That is, both symbolically and literally, a real truth of historical experience.
